It’s a great opportunity to stock up on Christmas/holiday reading. Just remember that each day, different books are on sale, so if you do see something you like, don’t hesitate until after midnight. I will have a look at the sale books for the day in the morning and recommend some titles (with a short exert), just to give you a guide if you are a bit lost.

Wednesday Recommendations:

Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae – 37% Off today

Giraffes Can’t Dance – This book has been a bestseller for over 15 years and is perfect for ages 0 -4. It’s a triumphant story about a Gerald the Giraffe who wants to join the other animals and dance! But can a giraffe dance? This book is funny, has joyful illustrations and comes with a small moral about tolerance and daring to be different.

Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson- 37% off today.

Monkey Puzzle – One of my favourite books. It’s a story written by the creators of the Gruffalo, that follows a lost Monkey through the jungle as he tries to find his mum. A kind butterfly tries to help, but they keep finding the wrong animals instead. As always, Julia Donaldson’s rhyming is on point, the images are spectacular and the storyline will definitely provide giggles for the readers.

Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems -43% off today

Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus – Your instruction from the bus driver, as the reader, is to make sure you Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. But watch the book unravel in speech bubbles and images as the pigeon does anything possible to drive the bus!

Thursday Recommendations:

The 39-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths – 41% off

The 39-Storey Treehouse – Suitable for ages 5+, this is a fantastic series which started off with a 13-Storey Treehouse. Basically, the series is about 2 boys who invite the reader to join them in their treehouse that keeps on getting bigger with each book. In the 39-Storey Treehouse, expect to come across the world’s highest trampoline, a “No NOT Swimming Chocolate Waterfall”, a Volcano used for toasting marshmallows and many more crazy inventions. Even though the book has a lot of pages, there are LOTS of illustrations to help your child imagine this crazy world of Andy and Terry. I would definitely recommend this, especially for those with creative imaginations and inventive minds!

Other Sales coming your way

In addition to Book Depository sale days, I will soon start selling off all my stock at home and focus more on recommendations, reviews, tips on how to get kids to read more, events and activities related to reading (unless you desperately need to get your hands on something and would like me to order it for you). So keep an eye out on the FaceBook/Instagram pages (Our Bookshelf ch- click here for FB link).

Looking forward to hearing your recommendations/requests for reviews

PS, Don’t forget that the Library in English in Geneva sale starts tomorrow!
